Ambien
Ambien (zolpidem) is a prescription medicine specially designed for the treatment of insomnia. It helps you to go to sleep fast and provides for at least 7 hours of healthy sleep when you do not wake up in the middle of the night and spend hours trying to go back to sleep. Ambien can cause an addiction, so it is not supposed to be taken by people to whom it was not prescribed. If you have develop an addiction, make sure you stop taking this drug gradually, less and less every several days, as otherwise the following symptoms can be experienced: anxiety, vomiting, stomach pain, muscle cramps, sweating, panic, seizure, and nausea. Taking any drugs along with Ambien may not be completely safe. You need to avoid combining Ambien with any medications your health care provider did not approve, especially any of the following ones: ketoconazole, rifampin, antidepressants, itraconazole, or chlorpromazine, although there are many other drugs that can potentially cause interference. If you have depression, suicidal thoughts, myasthenia gravis, lung disease, liver disease, kidney disease, a history of drug or alcohol addiction, sleep apnea, or a mental illness, your doctor needs to know about it before prescribing Ambien, as some of these conditions can require a dose adjustment or close monitoring of your progress to make sure no serious side effects take place. You need to know about the possibility of developing such mild side effects as amnesia, constipation, nausea, headache, dizziness, weakness, muscle pain, or stuffy nose. You do not have to report them and just carry on taking Ambien as prescribed – either regularly or when needed. Serious side effects happen quite rarely but you need to know them to notify your health care provider. Anxiety, depression, unusual thoughts, confusion, hallucinations, and aggression are most often reported serious side effects. This drug is FDA pregnancy category C. This category is used for drug that may pass into breast milk and affect the health of a nursing baby. There is also a chance your baby will have some health problems if you take Ambien during pregnancy. Since Ambien is not necessary to live, as it simply relieves insomnia, the use of this medicine may not be justified in pregnant ore breastfeeding women. It’s always a good idea to discuss this question with your health care provider before you purchase Ambien online or elsewhere.
